Graduation time

Do you smell that? Of course you don’t, I’m talking about graduation; and it doesn’t have a particular smell. But it is in the air! Adults are graduating with graduate degrees, others finishing their Bachelor’s. We have children graduating from kindergarten all the way through high school. It’s the time of year that family and friends all watch on with proud, tear-filled eyes as their loved ones take to the stage to receive their diploma and degrees.
This is a time to be happy and proud of the accomplishments of others. For one high school in Florida though, it seems to be a time to make some money. They are charging $20 a ticket to attend the graduation for family and friends. They are also offering premium seating at the price of $200!!! That’s right, $200 for premium seats at a high school graduation. What does that even mean? You can sit on the first row of bleachers? Oohhh, maybe you get a folding chair in FRONT of the bleachers. Then, to top it off, the graduating students are being charged $20 just to participate in the ceremony! Didn’t the kids pay their dues by attending and passing high school for four years?
