Pizza and explosions

Posted on by Kolbe

Earlier this month, gas giant Chevron’s plant in Greene County, PA had a massive explosion. The blast was so large that residents of the town reported feeling the ground shake. This gas well explosion caused massive damage and it took several days to cap the fire. This devastation is no joke, but what is a joke is how Chevron has decided to handle the situation. Chevron delivered coupons to residents for a free large pizza and two liter bottle of soda from a local pizza restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, free pizza is very nice and an appropriate way to compensate people for their troubles…when the trouble is something like, say, a screwed up pizza order, late delivery, or basically anything other than a massive gas explosion that devastated a town. Come on, Chevron, really? Pizza? Unless that pizza is topped with the money to cover the cost of medical bills, property damage, etc., that pizza wouldn’t be cutting it for me…well, maybe if it was pizza from First & Last Tavern, because that pizza is GOOD!
