There's gold in them there...cans...

For parts of the US the ground is still frozen solid, but not everywhere. Near Sacramento, California a couple was walking on their property and noticed what looked like a rusty tin can sticking out of the ground. Upon further inspection they realized it was a tin can. I know, not very exciting. They dug it up (out of their unfrozen Californian ground) and in that tin can were a number of mint condition gold coins dating from 1847-1894. That’s not it either; there was more than just one tin can full of old coins. Altogether, there was a total of 1,427 mint condition gold coins found by the couple on their property. The coins were valued at over $10 million!!! That’s one of the biggest rare coin discoveries in US history, and to imagine it was found by a middle-aged couple just out for a stroll on their property. So the next time you’re out for a walk and you see some possible trash on the ground, don’t just step over it. Pick it up and put it in a trashcan, seriously, litter is bad for the environment and you should do your part to help out.
