No one likes traffic, but if you’ve read this blog, you’ll know there is one type of traffic we don’t mind. That’s traffic caused by crazy circumstances. Today’s insane traffic story comes from Russia, where a robot being assembled in a lab escaped after an engineer left a door open. Before its batteries died, the robot made its way into the middle of a busy street, where it stayed for forty minutes causing quite the traffic jam. Some people feel this wasn’t an accident, but rather a marketing stunt to gain attention for the robot. Regardless if it was a marketing ploy or a true runaway robot, no one was hurt, and it made for another good traffic jam story.
A man in a Walmart parking lot heard the calls of a woman in distress and he decided to cowboy up to save the day. Robert Borba was at the local Walmart when he heard a woman yelling that a man had, in that moment, stolen her bike. The cowboy did what any cowboy would do. He jumped on his horse (which was in his trailer in the parking lot) chased down the thief on the stolen bike, and, wait for it… he lassoed the criminal! You’d think it was scene from a movie, too cool to believe. Right there in the parking lot, in 2016, a cowboy riding a horse, lassoed a bad guy and saved the day.
What is your license plate number? You don’t have to tell us, but do you know it off the top of your head? To a lot of people your license plate number doesn’t matter much. For others, however, it means a lot. In some places the number is a status symbol. As such, a UAE businessman bought the license plate number “1.” So, how much did the lowest whole number cost this individual, you ask? It was bought at auction for just under five million dollars. It’s a small price to pay for the convenience of never having to run out into a parking lot to get your license plate number again.
Have you ever sat in traffic and thought, "I wish I could drive over all these cars!” Well, if you take the bus, those dreams may be realized sooner rather than later. A transit company in China has designed what they are calling a Straddle Bus. The bus is two lanes wide and allows other vehicles on the road to pass under it. The bus also runs on a rail system allowing it to continue to its destination even during parking lot traffic. They hope to test the new bus system at the end of July or early August.
Fast food isn’t the healthiest for you, but it certainly can be convenient. Whether you’re on the road and need a quick bite, want to pick up some food and stay in your car, or you want to sweat it out in the sauna for a few, all of those are achievable at Burger King. That’s right, a Burger King in Helsinki, Finland has opened that includes a spa! You can even have food ordered to the sauna directly. Now you can sweat out some lbs. while you wait for your flame-broiled burger. They also have a media room as part of the spa with TV and a PlayStation 4.
